1.2% year-on-year inflation in Armenia in November

YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia rose 1.2% in November 2015, compared with the same month a year earlier, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

The index of prices for foods, alcoholic drinks and tobacco products was 98.7% in November 2015, compared with November 2014, and that of nonfoods was 104.5%. The index of prices for services was 101.9%.

In Jan-Nov 2015, compared with the same period a year before, consumer prices went 4.1% up – foods rose 3.6%, nonfoods 5.8% and services 2.9%.

According to the statistical report, inflation stood at 0.6% in November, compared with October. It was mainly due to a 1.7% price rise at food market.

In the government budget for 2015, inflation is projected at 4(±1.5%) and GDP growth at 4.1%. –0—

Head of Central Bank allowed for a reduction in loan rates in Armenia, but with a caveat

Interest rates on loans in Armenia may decrease if favorable inflation and geopolitical conditions persist, stated Martin Galstyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, on Public Television.
