Armenian banking plastic cards used outside the country to make about 5.75 billion drams worth transactions in 2016 April

YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. Plastic cards issued by Armenian commercial banks were used outside the country to make about 5.75 billion drams worth transactions in 2016 April, a 4.2% drop from the previous month, according to Central Bank’s bulletin. The number of transactions fell by 7 percent to 161,300.

The amount of non-cash transactions made by using cards in 2016 April fell by 2.3% from March to about 4.4 billion drams.

The plastic cards were used abroad also to withdraw the equivalent of 1.37 billion drams, down from 1.52 billion drams in March (9.7% decline).

All 20 Armenian based commercial banks issue and service various payment cards. Eighteen of them are members of the unified local payment system arca. ($1 – 478.82 drams). –0–
