2.2% year-on-year growth in Armenia’s financial sector services

YEREVAN, August 2. /ARKA/. Services in Armenia’s finance and insurance sectors totaled AMD 118.6 billion in Jan-June 2016 showing a 2.2 percent year-on-year growth.

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, services in the finance sector grew 4.9% in June 2016, compared with June 2015, to AMD 21.3 billion accounting for 20.3% of the total amount of the country’s all services.

Services in Armenia grew 8.3% in Jan-June 2016, compared with the same period a year earlier, to AMD 583 billion.

The second biggest service-providing segment is culture, entertainment and rest. Its services amounted to AMD 113.2 billion in Jan-June 2016 showing a 40.5% year-on-year growth.

The country’s information and communication sector faced a 0.2% decline to AMD 102.9 billion, while transport sector enjoyed a 22.8% growth to AMD 76.4 billion. ($1 – AMD 476.38).  –0—-

The net inflow of cross-border remittances to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $1.64 billion in January-December 2025, compared to $1.51 billion in January-December 2024, according to a report from the Central Bank.
