Around $78.4 million bought by Armenian banks last week

YEREVAN, January 29. /ARKA/. Armenia’s commercial banks bought around $78.4 million from the local foreign currency market on January 22 to 26 at the average weighted exchange rate of 480.31 drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia reported on Monday.

It said the banks also bought 7.8 million euros and 1.2 billion Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 589.33 and 8.48 drams per one euro and one ruble respectively.

The banks also sold about $91 million, € 14.1 million and 466 million rubles at average weighted exchange rates of 481.65, 593 and 8.58 drams respectively.

No dollar exchange transactions have been effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange over the mentioned period.

In addition, from January 15 to 21, the banks have provided $79.6 billion drams worth loans in the national currency and $56.1 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- AMD 480.6 drams). –0—-
