Armenian central bank issues three commemorative coins

YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Central Bank said today it has put into circulation commemorative silver coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first Republic of Armenia, the 100th anniversary of the Sardarapat Battle and the World Football Cup 2018 to be hosted this summer by Russia.

According to the regulator, 300 silver commemorative coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia were issued with the face value of 5000 drams. The obverse of the coins depicts the coat of arms of the First and Third Republics of Armenia, while the reverse – the government building of the First Republic.

Five hundred silver commemorative coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Sardarapat Battle were issued with the face value of 1000 drams. The obverse of the coins depicts a bell tower at the Sardarapat Memorial while the reverse –a sculpture of an eagle. These two commemorative coins were minted by the Lithuanian Mint.

Also 5000 coins dedicated to the World Cup 2018 were issued with the face value of 100 drams. The obverse depicts the coat of arms of Armenia, and the reverse – the Russian cities, hosting the games and the ball of the championship. These coins were minted in Germany. -0-
