Armenia’s overall public debt down 1.6% in may to $6.754.4 billion

YEREVAN, July 2. /ARKA/. At the end of 2018 May Armenia’s overall public debt stood at $6.754.4 billion, down 1.6% or $112.9 million from the previous month, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.

According to the NSC, Armenia’s external debt stood at $5.494.2 billion, down $39.6 million from the previous month. About $4.897.7 billion of that amount was owed by the government (a decline f $30 million), and $596.4 million was owed by the Central Bank (a decline of $9.6 million).

Armenia’s domestic debt at the end of May 2018 stood at $1.260.2 billion, down by $73.3 million. About $1.102.6 billion was owed to resident holders of government bonds, $148.2 million was owed to holders of US-denominated government bonds and $9 million were provided as government guarantees. -0-
