Armenia’s financial system not affected by coronavirus outbreak

YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/. Armenia’s financial system continues to work in normal mode, the Central Bank said in a statement today.

Earlier the Central Bank called on commercial banks and credit organizations to demonstrate individual approach to the borrowers, who are engaged in such businesses as hotel, restaurant, transport and leisure.
In addition, the Central Bank said that banks and credit organizations allowed their employees at risk (people over 60, with chronic illnesses and pregnant women) to work from home as part of the efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Central Bank again urged citizens to use online financial and banking services, payment and settlement applications. In case of questions, the regulator said citizens can contact their financial institutions and for other questions they may contact the Central Bank by calling its hotline numbers – 011 56 19 54, 011 56 39 50 and 010 59 26 97. -0-

The combined loan portfolio of 17 Armenia-based commercial banks upped  by 6.11% in Q2 2025 compared to Q1 2025, amounting to AMD 6.82 trillion, according to a ranking compiled by  the ARKA news agency.

Moody’s upgrades Converse Bank’s ratings

Moody's Ratings has upgraded Converse Bank CJSC's long-term local and foreign currency bank deposit ratings to Ba3 from B1, aligning the Bank’s rating with Armenia’s sovereign rating.
