Total deposits of non-residents in Armenian banks amount to AMD 1.1 trillion – central bank

YEREVAN, June 14. /ARKA/. The total amount of non-residents’ deposits  in Armenian banks stand at AMD 1.1 trillion, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan said on Tuesday.

According to him, as of March 31 this year, the amount of deposits of individuals stood at AMD 706bln, a 100% rise in comparison with the same period of the last year.

However, according to him, a much smaller growth rate has been recorded lately compared to the previous year as a result of some developments.

“On an annual basis, the total figure, which also includes deposits of legal entities, decreased, but  deposits of individuals were up 0.5% at the end of March compared to the beginning of the year,’ Galstyan said. ($1 – 387.21 drams). -0-
