Head of the Central Bank discussed implementation of new monetary approach with IMF representatives

YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. The Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan held a meeting today with a delegation led by IMF Mission Chief for Armenia Iva Petrova, the regulator’s press service reported.

Galstyan presented Armenia’s financial sector’s performance in 2023, current trends of economic growth, challenges and prospects, as well as priorities of the policy and reforms of the Central Bank.

The implementation of the new monetary approach, tasks and goals of the IMF mission, as well as issues of prices and financial stability, macroprudential policy and the second phase of Armenia’s economic reform assistance program were discussed. -0-

Inflation of 3.9% registered in Armenia in June

In the consumer market of Armenia, 12-month inflation in June of this year amounted to 3.9%, according to the report of the National Statistical Committee (NSC) of Armenia.

The average market exchange rate of the US dollar against the Armenian dram as of July 3, 2025, decreased by 0.05 points compared to July 2 and amounted to 384.46 drams.

Average settlement exchange rate of the dram to the dollar in June was 1% lower than a year ago

In June 2025, the average settlement exchange rate of the Armenian dram to the US dollar was 384.2 drams, which is 1% lower than the same indicator in June 2024 (388.1 drams).
