YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. The net inflow of private cross-border remittances to Armenia from abroad through banks in January-August 2024 amounted to $790.7 million against $1.23 billion in the first eight months of 2023, according to a report by the Central Bank.
Thus, on an annual basis, this indicator decreased by almost 1.6 times over the reporting period.
At the same time, in August of this year, the net inflow of cross-border remittances amounted to $32 million against $202.4 million in August last year.
The inflow of private cross-border remittances to Armenia from abroad through banks in January-August 2024 amounted to $3.6 billion against $3.8 billion in the same period of 2023.
Among the leaders in money transfers to Armenia for the first eight months of this year are Russia with $2.36 billion and the United States with $450.4 million.
At the same time, the leaders in money transfers to Armenia for the same period last year were also Russia and the United States ($2.7 billion and $430.6 million, respectively).
The outflow of private money transfers from Armenia abroad in January-August 2024 amounted to $2.8 billion against $2.6 billion for the same period last year.
The UAE ($594.7 million) and Russia ($401.4 million) are the leaders in terms of money transfers from Armenia abroad in the reporting period of this year.
For the same period in 2023, Russia and the UAE also became leaders ($460.3 million and $320.2 million, respectively). -0-
