Francofest – the breath of French literature in Armenia

YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. Under the general sponsorship of ‘’Akba Leasing’’, the French book festival “Francofest 2024” is being held for the second year in a row, promoting the dissemination of French books, literature and culture in Armenia.

The organizer of this unprecedented cultural event was Newmag.

Newmag presented 5 new books in Armenian at the French book festival.

“Akba Leasing promotes the spread of reading in Armenia and this support is also an expression of appreciation for literature, art, Armenian-French cultural ties and centuries-old friendship between the peoples of our countries. It is very important that financial organizations, in addition to promoting economic development and business financing, also sponsor such cultural events,” said Sarkis Sargsyan, Deputy General Director of Akba Leasing.

Director of the Newmag publishing house Artak Aleksanyan noted that ‘’Akba Leasing’’ traditionally promotes the Armenization of French literature and its dissemination.

“We are very happy that we have a very good partnership with ‘’Akba Leasing’’, and I hope that this cooperation will be long-term,” said Aleksanyan.

Francofest brings the most significant international literary event in the last 15 years to Armenia. The most prestigious Goncourt Prize in the French-speaking world opens its branch in Armenia.

All publications of the books of the famous Armenian Charles Aznavour by the Newmag publishing house were carried out with the support of the financial group “Akba”, “Akba Bank”, “Akba Leasing” and “Amundi-Akba”.
