IMF lowers inflation forecast in Armenia for 2024 and 2025

YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts inflation in Armenia to be 0.2% in 2024 and 3.1% in 2025. This forecast is included in the IMF’s October World Economic Outlook report.

In a similar report from April of this year, the IMF had predicted that inflation in Armenia would be 3.1% in 2024 and rise to 3.7% in 2025.

The current report forecasts Armenia’s economic growth at 6% in 2024 and 4.9% in 2025.

In Armenia’s state budget for 2024, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%). According to the Central Bank’s third-quarter report on monetary policy, inflation in Armenia is expected to range between 2.1% and 2% by the end of 2024. The forecasts for 2025, 2026, and 2027 are as follows: 4% to 3.2%, 4.2% to 3.8%, and 4%, respectively.

The World Bank expects inflation in Armenia to reach 3% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025, and 4% in 2026. The IMF forecasts that prices in Armenia will increase by 0.2% in 2024 and by 3.1% in 2025. According to ADB projections, inflation in Armenia will be 0.8% in 2024 and will rise to 2.5% in 2025. The EDB anticipates inflation in Armenia to be 1.5% by the end of this year. -0-
