Armenian pensioners urged to choose a bank for cashless payments by March 5

YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has urged pensioners and benefit recipients who continue to receive payments in cash to choose a bank by March 5, 2026, to switch to cashless payments.

The ministry reminded that, starting April 1, 2026, pensions and social benefits in the country will be paid exclusively by cashless means.

“Starting March 5, 2026, for citizens receiving pensions or benefits in cash who have not submitted an application to change the payment method, the bank selection will be made automatically, without the need to submit an application,” the statement noted.

However, no applications to change banks will be accepted between March 5 and April 1.

The ministry also announced that bank cards will be delivered by courier service exclusively to citizens with limited mobility, with the presence of social workers if necessary.

Citizens  can apply to change your payment method until March 5, 2026, online via the platform https://online.ssa.am or by visiting any territorial center of the Unified Social Service.

About cashback on benefits and pensions

Since July 1, 2022, a cashback program has been in effect in Armenia for pensioners and benefit recipients. Initially, they received a 10% cashback on their monthly spending (up to a maximum of 5,000 AMD per month); later, the cashback increased to 12% (up to a maximum of 6,000 AMD). The amount is paid out by the 25th of the following month.

From January 1, 2026, the cashback amount was increased to 20%.-0-
