Net inflow of remittances to Armenia from abroad increased approximately 2.3-fold in the first half of the year

YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. The net inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $1.38 billion in January-June 2026, compared to $587.6 million in January-June 2025, according to a report from the Central Bank of the Republic.

Thus, this figure increased 2.34-fold year-on-year.

Moreover, in June alone, net remittance inflow amounted to $292.5 million, compared to $75.9 million in May of last year. The inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $3.57 billion in the first half of this year, compared to $2.76 billion in the first six months of last year.

The leading countries for transfers to Armenia were Russia with $2.42 billion and the United States with $399.7 million. Furthermore, Russia and the United States also led transfers to Armenia in the 2025 reporting period ($1.77 billion and $327.6 million, respectively).

At the same time, the outflow of transfers from individuals from Armenia abroad, made through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $2.19 billion in the first half of 2026, compared to $2.17 billion in the same period of 2025.

The United States ($340.7 million) and the UAE ($307.5 million) led transfers from Armenia abroad in the reporting months. In January-June 2025, the leaders were the UAE ($343.5 million) and Switzerland ($343.3 million).
