Individuals and entrepreneurs’ time deposits in Armenian banks total AMD 241.4 billion in Jan-Sept 2009

YEREVAN, December 17. /ARKA/. Individuals and entrepreneurs’ time deposits in Armenian banks totaled AMD 241.4 billion in Jan-Sept 2009 after growing 38.2% over these nine months.

Banks’ interim financial reports show that Unibank was the leading time deposit holder at the third quarter.

The bank’s deposits constitute 20.91% of Armenian banking system’s time deposits attracted from individuals and entrepreneurs.

The share of time deposits in Unibank’s total liabilities is 52.74%.

HSBC bank Armenia with its AMD 36.4 billion ranked second in the third quarter.

Ardshininvestbank (AMD 30.3 billion) came third.

ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank (AMD 18.5 billion) and VTB Bank (Armenia) (AMD 15.6 billion) follow HSBC Bank Armenia.

According to ARKA News Agency’s data, individuals and entrepreneurs’ aggregate deposits in Armenian banks totaled AMD 333.3 billion by late September.

Of these deposits, demand deposits amounted to AMD 92 billion.

Armenian banks’ aggregate liabilities totaled AMD 999.6 billion in Jan-Sept 2009.

Twenty two banks with their 365 branches are functioning in Armenia now. ($1 – AMD 381.59). -0-
