BSTDB: armenian banks successfully overcome crisis with petty losses

YEREVAN, October 26. /ARKA/. Armenian banks have managed to overcome the crisis with petty losses, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank President Andrey Kondakov said Tuesday in Yerevan answering ARKA News Agency’s question.

“The Central Bank of Armenia pursued a reasonable, balanced and even to some extent conservative policy for supporting Armenian banks’ liquidity,” he said at a news conference in Yerevan.

Kondakov said that some Armenian banks are the BSTDB’s clients, and others are potential clients.

“We are communicating with them,” he said. “They are transparent and their activities are up to international standards. We speak the same language. It means proper bank-management standards are being introduced in Armenian banking system, and this simplifies cooperation with them.”

Ten active projects worth $70 million are being implemented in Armenia now. -0-
