Net inflow of remittances to Armenia from abroad increased approximately 2.7-fold in four months

YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. The net inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $728.1 million in January-April 2026, compared to $273.4 million in January-April 2025, according to a report from the Central Bank.

Thus, this figure increased 2.66-fold year-on-year.

Moreover, in April alone, the net inflow of remittances amounted to $269.916 million, compared to $129.718 million in April of last year. The inflow of cross-border transfers to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad through the Armenian banking system, amounted to $2.08 billion in the first four months of this year, compared to $1.77 billion in the same period last year.

The leading countries for transfers to Armenia were Russia with $1.32 billion and the United States with $269.6 million. Furthermore, Russia and the United States also led transfers to Armenia in the 2025 reporting period ($1.15 billion and $210.3 million, respectively).

At the same time, the outflow of transfers from individuals from Armenia abroad through the Armenian banking system amounted to $1.35 billion in January-April 2026, compared to $1.5 billion in the same period of 2025.

The United States ($247.7 million) and the UAE ($173.2 million) led transfers from Armenia abroad in the reporting months. In January-April 2025, the leaders were Switzerland ($289.6 million) and the UAE ($237.7 million).
