Armenian banks’ aggregate liabilities grow 9.04% to AMD 1237.2 billion

YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. Armenian banks’ aggregate liabilities totaled AMD 1237.2 billion in late December 2010 after growing 9.04% or by AMD 102.6 billion since the beginning of the final quarter of that year and 17.12% since the beginning of the year.

ARKA News Agency’s analysis shows that ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank became the leader among Armenian banks for its AMD 128.8 billion liabilities, despite 4.33% quarter-on-quarter contraction. The bank’s liabilities made up 10.41% of the Armenian banks’ aggregate liabilities.

Ameriabank, with its AMD 120.9 billion (9.77%) came second in ARKA News Agency’s ranking.

HSBC Bank Armenia, with AMD 120.2 billion (9.72%) ranked third.

Armbusinessbank, with AMD 100 billion (8.09%), and Unibank, with AMD 99.6 billion (8.05%), follow HSBC Bank Armenia.

These five banks accounted for 46.04% of Armenian banking system’s liabilities in the 4th Q 2010.

Araratbank was singled out for its 63.12% quarter-on-quarter growth in liabilities, which reached AMD 52.7 billion by late December.

Byblos Bank Armenia enlarged its liabilities to AMD 20.1 billion by late December showing 47.12% growth.

Areximbank – Gazprombank Group built up its liabilities 25.99% to AMD 52.5 billion.

Some 21 commercial banks with 407 branches operated in Armenia in late December. -0-

Armenia to Receive €120 Million Loan and €15 Million Grant from KfW Bank for Power Grid Connection with Georgia
