Armenia’s foreign trade in 2011 January rise s by 2.3% from 2010 January to $321.5 million

YEREVAN, February 21, /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in 2011 January rose by 2.3% as opposed to 2010 January, to $321.5 million or 117.3 billion Drams, according to preliminary data, released today by the country’s National Statistical Service.

But it plummeted by almost 40% if compared to 2010 December. Armenian exports grew by 21.3% if compared to 2010 January to $66.3 million or 24.2 billion Drams, while imports dropped by 1.7% to $255.3 million or 93.1 billion Drams.
The trade balance was negative amounting to $189 million (68.9 billion Drams).

If compared to 2010 December exports slashed by 42.6% and imports by 38%. The average exchanged rate of one US Dollar was 364.95 Drams. In 2001 January Armenia’s foreign trade was $296.4 million. ($1 – 365.83 Drams). -0-
