Inflation of 0.8% registered in March versus February in Armenia

YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. Inflation of 0.8% was registered in March versus February in Armenia which is mainly conditioned by the increase of prices of food products (including alcohol drinks and tobacco products) by 0.8% and tariffs for services by 0.9%, Armenian National Statistic Service informs.

Food products increased by 0.5% in March versus February 2011.

Index of consumer prices in March 2011 was 111.5% versus March 201, including food products

(including alcohol drinks and tobacco products) – 115.5%, non-food products – 103.8% and tariffs for services – 108.4%.

In January-March average growth of consumer prices was 1.7% which is by 0.7 p,p, more than the indicator of the last year (1%).

Index of consumer prices in January-March 2011 was 111.1% versus the same period in 2010: food products (including alcohol drinks and tobacco products) increased by 15.2%, non-food products – 3.5% and tariffs for services – 7.6%.

Consumer prices in all the studied cities of Armenia increased by 0.2-2.7%. In Yerevan consumer prices increased by 0.5%.

According to the state budget, inflation in 2011 was planned on the level of 4% (±1.5%) in Armenia. –0—
