Mandatory health insurance will not be introduced in Armenia in the next years

YEREVAN, April 15. /ARKA/. Mandatory health insurance will not be introduced in Armenia in the next two years, executive director of insurance company “Garant-Limens” Artak Martirosyan said.

“Here the main problem is the lack of finance”, he said in the press-conference in “Novosti” international centre.

In Armenia a mandatory system of car insurance is introduced and time is needed for preparing people for another type of insurance.

In 2010, the share of health insurance market in Armenia was 12% (about 986 million drams) vs. 8.5% in 2009. As for insurance payments, growth of 57% to 569 million drams is also observed.($1- 376.48 drams). -0–

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan engaged in talks on Tuesday on the execution of the measures outlined in the IMF's three-year Stand-By Agreement (SBA) with Alexander Timan, the Head of the IMF Armenia Mission, and Umang Ravat, the IMF's Permanent Representative to Armenia.
