Armenian Central Bank’s 2010 financial stability report already released

YEREVAN, April 26. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia issued the 2010 financial stability report on Tuesday.

The report contains estimates of risks, which can affect Armenia’s financial system, and ways of neutralization of these risks.

“Financial stability was retained at a satisfactory level over 2010,” the report says. “Decline in the agriculture sector deterred the country’s economy from reaching the projected growth, while other segments of the economy retained growth.”

According to the report, economic growth in Armenia is expected to be between 4.1% and 5.7% in 2011 thanks to recovery if the world economy in projected paces and relatively fast growth in domestic demand.

Experts at the central bank also say that inflation may be within the benchmarks set by the regulator, if no worldwide energy or food crises emerge.

In the 2011 government budget, inflation in Armenia is projected at 4% (±1.5%), and GDP growth at 4.6%.

The regulator has also predicted that imports and exports will grow in 2011 and the inflow of individual transfers will intensify, if recovery of the global economy runs in expected ways and Russia’s economy grows intensively. -0-
