Armenian commercial banks’ lending to residents grows 2.7% to amd 592.4 billion

YEREVAN, June 21. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks’ lending to residents grew 2.7% in April, compared with March, to AMD 592.4 billion, the Central Bank of Armenia said reviewing monetary indicators for April 2011.

According to teh review, the total amount of loans exteneded to companies in drams grew 0.2% in April, compared with March, to AMD 139.2 billion, and loans in foreign curencies grew 3.4% to AMD 451.6 billion.

Loans extended to private companies in drams grew 1% to AMD 139.2 billion and those in foreign currencies exceeded AMD 439 billion after growing by 7.8%, while loans extended to the public sector in drams contracted by 41.3% to AMD 1.6 billion and those in foreign currencies by 41.3% to AMD 12.6 billion. The combined loan portfolio of 17 Armenia-based commercial banks upped  by 6.11% in Q2 2025 compared to Q1 2025, amounting to AMD 6.82 trillion, according to a ranking compiled by  the ARKA news agency.

Deposits in commercial banks of Armenia at the end of June amounted to 6.7 trillion drams

According to the National Statistical Committee, the volume of deposits in all 17 Armenian commercial banks at the end of June 2025 amounted to 6,693,323 million drams, up from 6,665,578 million drams in May.
