Armenia’s gross reserves rose to $5.5 billion in February, providing 4.1 months of import coverage – WB

YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. Gross reserves in Armenia increased, reaching $5.5 billion at the end of February, equivalent to 4.1 months of import coverage, according to the World Bank’s “Armenia Monthly Economic Update – March 2026.”

According to the Central Bank of Armenia, Armenia’s gross international reserves as of February 2026 amounted to $5,520.7 million, compared to $5,185.5 million in January 2026 and $3,371.5 million in February 2025.

The WB study notes that in February, the Armenian dram strengthened against the US dollar by 0.7% (MoM) and weakened against the euro by 0.2% (MoM). “On average, the dram strengthened by 4.6% (y-o-y) against the US dollar in February, while it weakened by 8.4% (y-o-y) and 14.2% (y-o-y) against the euro and the Russian ruble, respectively,” the bank’s analysts note.

According to Armstat, the average settlement exchange rate of the Armenian dram to the US dollar in February 2026 was 377.6 drams (395.6 drams in February 2025).
