Central bank of Armenia governor attends annual meeting of Basel bank for international settlements

YEREVAN, June 24. / ARKA /. Arthur Javadian, the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), and Andranik Grigorian, Head of Financial System Regulation Department have left for Basel, Switzerland, to attend the June 24-27 annual meeting of the Basel Bank for International Settlements, the CBA told ARKA.

The Basel Bank for International Settlements is an international financial institution set up to promote cooperation between national central banks and to facilitate international financial transactions.

The Bank is also a center for economic and monetary researches. The Bank was founded by central banks of major trading nations. Each appoints a representative to the board of directors that convenes at least 10 times a year. The headquarters is in Basel (Switzerland) -0-
