Volume of private transfers to Armenia in the II quarter of 2011 increased by 19% making 161 billion drams

YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Volume of private transfers to Armenia through the banks and other organizations implementing money transfers, in the second quarter of 2011 was 161 billion drams increased by 19% compared to the same period of 2010.

Press-centre of Central Bank of Armenia informed “ARKA” that in the reporting period the volume of transfers to abroad was 64 billion drams which was not significantly changed compared to the same period of 2010. In its result, net flow of transfers implemented by commercial banks through international systems in the second quarter of 2011 was 97 billion drams which is by 26 billion drams more than the indicator of the same period of 2010.

Volume of transfers to Armenia through commercial banks involved in the international transfer systems in the second quarter of 2011 was 118 billion drams (the number of transfers was 533326) which is 7.9 times more than the volume of money transfers to abroad.

Volume of transfers to Armenia increased by 20 billion drams in the second quarter of 2011 compared to 2010. Average volume of one transfer through international systems was 221 thousand drams which is by 9 thousand drams more than the indicator of the same period of 2010.

In total, money transfers to the names of physical entities implemented through correspondent accounts of commercial banks were 43 billion drams increased by 14% or 5.4 billion drams compared to the second quarter of 2010. Average volume of one transfer to Armenia was 2.6 million drams which increased by 0.8 billion drams compared to the same period of 2010. Volume of transfers of physical entities out of border through correspondent accounts of commercial banks reduced by 3 billion drams (or by 6%) compared to the same period of 2010 making 50 billion drams.

Total volume of money transfers to Armenia through correspondent accounts of commercial banks (through SWIFT, Telex, Fax and the system bank-client) during the reporting period was 690 billion drams and their number is 32671. Average volume of one transfer was 21 million drams, increased by 13% compared to the second quarter of 2010. ($1 – 370.73 drams). —0—
