Individual money transfers to Armenia in January-July 2011 surge by 25% to more $772.4 million

YEREVAN, September 15, /ARKA/. Individual money transfers to Armenia in January-July 2011 through commercial banks surged by 25% or $154.4 million year-on-year to more than $772.4 million, the Central Bank of Armenia said in its monthly bulletin for July this year, posted on its official website.

According to the bulletin, money transfers form Armenia to other countries in the same time span grew by 18.4% to $141.2 million.

Net money transfers to Armenia made a little over of $631.2 million, up from $498.8 million in the first seven months of 2010 rising by 26.5%. The largest inflow of net money transfers, about $557.8 million, came from Russia. Individual money transfers in July this year rose to $158.5 million from $139.3 million in June. The growth was 13.7%. Compared to 2010 July the rise was 23.4%. ($1 – 374.88 drams). -0-
