Armenia’s Monetary Base Shrinks 2.2% To Amd 570.6 Billion

YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base contracted by AMD 12.8 billion or 2.2% in September 2011, compared with the previous month, to AMD 570.6 billion, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

According to the statistical report based on the central bank’s preliminary figures, cash outside of the Central Bank of Armenia totaled AMD 359.6 billion in late September against AMD 359.8 billion in late August.

Mandatory reserves in Armenian drams totaled about AMD 97.6 billion in late September against AMD 105.8 billion in late August, and those in foreign currencies amounted to AMD 104.6 billion against AMD 106.6 billion.

Net international reserves less funds from privatization shrank by AMD 3.2 billion or 0.7% in September, compared with August, to AMD 472.7 billion.

Net internal assets totaled AMD 97.9 billion in late September against 107.5 billion in late August. ($1 = AMD 378.58).–0–
