Armenian dram loses 1.1% percent against USD in 2011 October

YEREVAN, November 2. / ARKA /. In October 2011 the exchange rate of Armenian national currency, the dram, grew by 1.1% against U.S. dollar as opposed to the exchange rate in September, while consumer prices grew by 0.3 percent, the National Statistical Service said.

It said consume prices in October 2011, compared to December last year, increased by 0.9% along with a 4.4% rise in the exchange rate of the dram. Compared to the same period last year consumer prices in 2011 October grew by 5.8%, while the exchange rate drooped by 5.3%.

In October, the average exchange rate of one USD was 376.45 drams, which was 4.5% higher than in 2010 October. ($ 1 – 378.96 AMD).-0-
