Short-term lending interests rise in Armenia in November

YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Average interest rate on short-term loans extended by Armenian commercial banks in drams rose 0.22 percentage points in November, compared with October, to 18.11%, Armenian national statistical service reports.

Interests on deposits went 0.1 percentage points up and averaged 9.28% in late November.

According to the statistical report, the total amount of loans extended by Armenian commercial banks grew 3.4% in November, compared with October, to more than AMD 1.2 trillion.

Deposits in commercial banks totaled over AMD 924 billion in late November after growing 2.5% since late October.

Some 21 commercial banks operated in Armenia in late November. ($1 – AMD 387.07). -0—
