Armenian Development Bank earns 770 million drams in profits in 2011

YEREVAN, February 22. /ARKA/. The Armenian Development Bank (ADB) earned a total of 770 million drams in income last year, its board chairman, Karen Sarkisian, said at a news conference today. According to ARKA data, the figure represented a 0.6% increase from 2010.

He said the bank’s assets grew last year by 60%, a similar increase was recorded in its loan portfolio. According to Sarkisian, the volume of bank’s deposits has doubled while the number of depositors more than doubled. The deposit portfolio amounted to 22 billion drams. The number of the bank’s active plastic cards grew by 44% to 7000.

During the reporting period, the number of the bank’s customers increased by 56% to about 11,000 customers, 10,000 of them are individual customers.

The Armenian Development Bank was founded in 1991. It has 75 shareholders, 40% of whom are residents of Armenia. Other shareholders include 13 legal entities, including two international organizations, as well as shareholders in the U.S., Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Australia and Brazil. ($1 – 389.17 drams). -0-
