Time deposits of Armenian individuals and entrepreneurs rise 41.6% to AMD 429.7 bln in 2011

YEREVAN, February 23. /ARKA/. Time deposits attracted from individuals and entrepreneurs into the banking system of Armenia climbed 41.6% to 429.7 billion drams as of December 31, 2011 from a year earlier.

The interim financial statements of the banks, referring to this index, report Unibank as 2011 -forth- quarter leader, which holds 12.5% of time deposits (over 53.5 billion drams) attracted into the banking system from the individuals and entrepreneurs. In the total liabilities of Unibank the share of this index is 54.5%.

The top five banks with the high index in total deposits are also HSBC Bank Armenia (over 40 billion drams), Armbusinessbank (nearly 46.7 billion drams), VTB Bank (Armenia) (over 36.6 billion drams) and Ardshininvestbank (over 43.4 billion drams).

The total amount of deposits by individuals and legal entities into Armenian banks hit over 944.4 billion drams as of December 31, over 126.9 billion of which were demand deposits of individuals and entrepreneurs. Along with this, the total liabilities of Armenian banking system reached over 1698.9 billion drams at the same period.As of December 31, 2011 there are 21 banks with 437 branches in Armenia.
