Armenia’s commercial banks direct AMD 6.8 bln to state budget in I quarter this year

YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s 21 commercial banks replenished the state budget by nearly 6.8 billion drams thus appearing in the list of the 1000 largest taxpayers of the country for the first quarter of 2012, the data published on the website of State Revenue Committee shows.

Total of 4.4 billion drams were paid by the 20 banks in January-March of a year earlier.

The tax authorities collected over 6.7 billion drams, whereas customs- 56.6 million drams.

The taxes collected from the banks made up 5.6% of the total amount directed to the state budget by 1000 largest taxpayers of the country.

The top 5 banks in the list are ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank ( over 780.1 million drams- 18th place), HSBC Bank Armenia ( nearly 685.5 million drams- 25th place), Ameriabank ( about 668.1 million drams- 26th place) and Mellat Bank ( over 666.7 million drams- 27th place).

The top 100 banks in the list of the largest taxpayers included such banks as VTB Bank (Armenia) ( around 605.1 million drams- 32nd place), Unibank ( nearly 455.8 million drams- 46th place), Armbusinessbank ( approximately 429.8 million drams- 48th place), Ardshininvestbank ( over 369.5 million drams- 61st place), Prometey bank ( over 314.6 million drams- 66th place), Araratbank ( over 305.6 million drams-70th place), Armeconombank (nearly 248.3 million drams- 82nd place), Inecobank ( over 239.6 million drams- 85th place), Converse bank ( approximately 225.7 million drams- 89th place) and Areximbank-Gazprombank Group ( around 217.2 million drams- 95th place).
In total, in the first quarter of 2012, 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia delivered to the state budget over 121.3 billion drams against 106.5 billion drams from the same period last year. ($1 –391.87 drams).—0—
