Armenian insurance companies’ first-quarter assets advance 13.4% to AMD 35.7 bln

YEREVAN, May 30. /ARKA/. The first-quarter assets of Armenian insurance companies jumped 13.4% to 35.7 billion drams as of March 31, according to the report released by the Central Bank of Armenia.

Deposits in banks reported the largest share in the assets of the insurance companies ( 38.7%). They are followed by insurance premiums from direct insurance activity- 12.5%, allocated loans- 8.9%, investments in securities- 6.1%.

Liabilities of the insurance market in Armenia climbed by 26.5% to 22.1 billion drams within the reported period, 55% of which are unearned premium reserves.

As of March 31 there are 9 insurance companies in Armenia. ($1 – 406.75 drams).—0–
