Armenian banks injected nearly 2.5 billion drams on education in April

YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks allocated nearly 2.5 billion drams for educational sector at the end of April this year, that is 6.5% higher compared to March 31, according to the data published on the Armenian Central Bank’s website.

Education loans were mainly distributed in foreign currency- 85.4%.

Thus, total education loans valued at nearly 2.1 billion drams, 8.6% more than in March. At the same time within the reported period, consumer lending totaled 247.3 billion drams, 3.5% rise in April.

As of April 30 of 2012 there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 414.96 drams).—0–
