Equity capital of Armenia’s banks jumps 4.62% to AMD 387.3 bln in II Q

YEREVAN, July 24. /ARKA/. The equity capital of the banks in Armenia grew 4.62% to nearly 387.3 billion drams in the second quarter of 2012 from the beginning of this year. The authorized capital of banks remained unchanged, 233.3 billion drams, and the retained earnings shrank by almost 15.8% to 17.9 billion drams within the reported period.

According to interim financial reports of the banks in the second quarter of this year, the leader in the equity capital index is ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK  (12.22% of the total equity capital of all banks). The authorized capital of the bank accounts 12.82 % (30 billion drams) of the total authorized capital, and the retained earnings- 10.9% (nearly 1.9 billion drams).

Top 5 banks are Ameriabank (36.6 billion drams), HSBC Bank Armenia ( 33.3 billion drams), Ardshininvestbank (32.9 billion drams) and VTB Bank (Armenia)- 29.7 billion drams.
As of June 30, 2012, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 411.25 drams). —0–
