Armenian banks capable of managing currency risks- Armenia’s Union of Banks Head

YEREVAN, September 14. /ARKA/. Armenian banks are capable of managing their currency risks appropriately, Chairman of Armenia’s Union of Banks Ashot Osipyan told journalists on Friday.

One of such risks is real economy lending in currency, he added.

In reference to this Osipyan said that if a subject has a currency risk, a bank will give a credit in AMD.

“That is why the Armenian banks started attracting more means in the national currency from international structures. This is done in order to pass this risk to the shoulders of the borrower,” he underscored.

Earlier head of EBRD Armenia Mr. Razlog said that international organizations are currently allocating credits to Armenia in AMD to reduce currency risks. —0-
