Mortgage lending in Armenian banks’ loan portfolio exceeds AMD 123 billion

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Mortgage loans extended by Armenian commercial banks totaled AMD 123.2 billion in late August 2012 after growing 1.9% since late July.

According to the information available on the central bank’s website, loans extended in Armenian drams grew 1.5% in August, compared with July to AMD 63.3 billion, and those extended in foreign currencies grew 2.3% to AMD 59.8 billion.

Mortgage loans accounted for 8.2% of Armenian commercial banks’ aggregate loan portfolio in late August.

Loans extended to resident companies amounted to about AMD 1 501.1 billion in late August after growing 1.3% since late July.
