Deposits to Armenia’s banks up 0.9% to over AMD 1175 bln at end-October

YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. Deposits to Armenia’s commercial banks totaled over 1175 billion drams at the end of October, which is 0.9% higher from September, according to the data published on the Central Bank’s official website.

AMD deposits in October rose 2.8% from a month earlier to nearly 351.5 billion drams. Foreign currency deposits climbed 0.1% to over 823.9 billion drams.

Residents’ deposits made up 94.7% of the total AMD deposits in October (332.7 billion drams), which is 0.4 p.p. lower from September.

As of 30 October 2012, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 406.3 drams).—0-
