Russian authorities charge five-member group for making fake banknotes of Russia, Armenia and Ukraine

YEREVAN, December 13. / ARKA /. Russian law-enforcement authorities have formally charged a five-member criminal group for making fake banknotes of Russia, Armenia and Ukraine, as well as euros, RIA Novosti news agency reported citing Moscow Police Department.

It said law-enforcement authorities have established that the group was engaged in production and sale of counterfeit money of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (one thousand and five thousand banknotes), 100 euros banknotes, as well as Armenian and Ukrainian banknotes.

The law enforcement officials tracked down the traffickers, intermediaries and the producers of counterfeit banknotes. The police searched their homes and found a printing machine for making counterfeit banknotes.

The authorities also established that this group had been involved in similar crimes in the Russian capital.  If found guilty the group members may face prison terms up to 12 years. -0-
