Armenian commercial banks purchase over $79.4mln on intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, January 21. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $79.4mln at a weighted average rate of 406.62drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on January 14-18, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 9.6mln euros and over 961mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 542.04drams per €1 and 13.3drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, over $85.3mln, about €13.9mln and about 73.9mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 407.76drams, 543.96drams and 13.50drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week totalled 22bln drams; dollar loans were $31.6mln. ($1=406.54drams). –0–
