Some 5 billion drams worth transactions made outside Armenia by using banking cards

YEREVAN, May 16. / ARKA /. The total amount of transactions made in 2013 March by using all types of banking cards issued by Armenian banks outside the country surged by 26.5 percent from the previous month of February to about 5 billion drams, the Central Bank of Armenia said in its monthly bulletin for March.

The number of transactions grew by 31.3 percent to approximately 97.3 million The amount of non-cash transactions increased by almost 20 percent from February to about 3.3 billion drams, while encashment transactions grew by 41.4 percent to 1.7 billion drams.

At the end of March this year, 21 Armenia-based commercial banks issued and serviced plastic cards – 19 of them are members of ArCa single payment system. ($ 1 – 416.64 drams). -0-
