Armenian Premier and WB Chief Executive discussed cooperation prospects

YEREVAN, June 3./ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Monday Chief Executive of the World Bank Frank Heemskerk, the government reported to ARKA.

PM expresses his satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Armenia and WB and noted he believed the bilateral partnership would expand even further in the near future.

Heemskerk, on his side, pledged to report to the World Bank Armenia’s expectations relating to the cooperation expansion.

The sides discussed the issues relating to WB-funded programs in agriculture, state apparatus, local administration management.

On the request of Heemskerk PM also presented the economic situation in Armenia, the process of reforms implementation, etc.

As of May 2013, nearly $1.73 million was injected into Armenia that joined WB in 1992 and IBRD- in 1993.—0-

The combined loan portfolio of 17 Armenia-based commercial banks upped  by 6.11% in Q2 2025 compared to Q1 2025, amounting to AMD 6.82 trillion, according to a ranking compiled by  the ARKA news agency.
