Three major insurers of Armenia paid over AMD 2.9mln in mandatory car insurance compensations in Jan-May

YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/.The three major insurers of Armenia paid about 2. 979 million drams in mandatory car insurance compensations within January-May, Armenian Car Insurers Bureau reports Friday.

It is said to account for 68.6% of all compensations.
Total amount of compensations of all existing insurers in Armenia hit about 4338 million drams in January-May.

Rosgosstrakh-Armenia allocated biggest amount in compensations – 1 410,3 million drams. Ingo Armenia paid over 1016,5 million drams and Reso – over 552.2 million drams.

According to the source, 15, 535 applications were approved by these companies within the reported period.

As of 31 May 2013, there were 371, 926 insured vehicles, which was by 22, 106 more from a year before.

The insurance market lost 75.6% within January-May 2013, which was by 6.6% higher from a year earlier.

The obligatory car insurance was instituted in Armenia on January 1, 2011. The country’s insurance market is under the central bank’s control. -0—
