Armenian commercial banks’ mortgage loans in May increased by 1.7 percent from previous month to 132.4 billion drams

YEREVAN, July 16. / ARKA /. Armenian commercial banks’ outstanding mortgage loans in May 2013 amounted to 132.4 billion drams, an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the previous month, according to the monthly bulletin of the Central Bank of Armenia for May.

It says mortgage loans in Armenia’s national currency, the dram, amounted to 64.5 billion drams (up 0.87%), and loans in foreign currency stood at 67.9 billion drams (up 2.6%). At the same time, consumer loans in the reporting period amounted to 327.9 billion drams (up 1.83%), of which 271.2 billion drams (up 3%) were in drams and an equivalent of 56.6 billion drams (up 1.6%) in foreign currency.

Loans released via plastic cards in May totaled 108.1 billion drams (up 3.9%), and auto loans rose to 17.1 billion drams (up 0.15%).

According to the Central Bank, commercial banks loans to residents of Armenia in May 2013 amounted to 1682.8 million drams, of which 622 billion were in drams and an equivalent of 1.060.2 trillion drams in foreign currency. ($ 1 – 409.90 drams). -0-
