Armenia’s money supply in August grows by 0.95 percent to 1.426 trillion drams

YEREVAN, September 30. / ARKA /. Armenia’s money supply in August saw a 0.9 percent rise from July to about 1.425.6 trillion drams, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service, which cited the Central Bank data.

It said cash outside the banking system at the end of August amounted to about 359.1 billion drams, down from 365.1 billion drams at the end of previous month. Call deposits (in drams) stood at about 166.3 billion drams, down from 164.7 billion drams.

Time deposits in the national currency exceeded 220.9 billion drams, up from 219.6 billion drams at the end of July. Deposits in foreign currency stood at about 679.2 billion drams, up from 663.2 billion.

The money multiplier was 2.10 at the end of August, falling by 0.01 percent to 1.94 ($1 – 405.06 drams). -0-
