Mandatory health insurance to be introduced in Armenia in 2015

YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ministry of health will submit the bill on transfer to mandatory medical insurance as from 2015 for government’s consideration by the end of this year, the deputy minister of health Derenik Dumanyan said at the budget hearings in the parliament Friday.

According to Dumanyan, the 2014 healthcare funding will give an opportunity of implementing large-scale programs.

In particular, the funds will be spent on diagnosing cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cervical carcinoma.

“It will be an unprecedented program involving 50% of Armenia’s population”, the deputy minister said.

The social package introduced for civil and public servants with mandatory health insurance as one of its components was introduced in Armenia as from January 2012.–0–
