Armenia’s Commercial Banks purchase over $96.7 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $96.7mln at a weighted average rate of 404.87drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on December 9-13, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 7.2mln euros and over 780.6mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 554.90drams per €1 and 12.26drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $105.1mln, about €12.9mln and about 140.8mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 406.05drams, 558.79drams and 12.46drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (December 2-8) totalled 40.4bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $34.9mln. ($1=404.95drams).  –0–
