Armenia’s monetary base rose 3.8% to AMD 746.4 billion in November

YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base grew by 3.8% in November, compared with October, to about AMD 746.4 billion, the National Statistical Service reported referring to the central bank’s preliminary figures.

Cash outside the central bank amounted to over AMD 405.74 billion in late November against over AMD 408.61 billion at the end of October.

Mandatory reserves in drams totaled over AMD 182 billion in November (increase of 1.9%), and those in foreign currencies grew by 19.9% to over AMD 154.86 billion.

Net international reserves less funds from privatization grew 6.6% over November, compared with October, to over AMD 525.7 billion.

Net internal assets totaled over AMD 220.6 billion against over AMD 225.9 billion in October. ($1 – AMD 405.95).  –0–

Chairman of Central Bank: Interest rates on loans for bona fide SMEs may decrease by 1-1.5%

The Central Bank of Armenia has initiated a program to support small and medium-sized businesses, under which interest rates on loans for companies with good credit and tax histories may be reduced by 1-1.5%, stated Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan.
