Armenia’s monetary base reduces 11.8% to AMD 783 billion in January 2014

YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base amounted to about AMD 783 billion in late January 2014 after reducing 11.8% over the month, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports referring to the central bank’s figures.

Cash outside of the central bank amounted to more than AMD 391.9 billion in late January 2014 after shrinking 12.3% over the month.

According to the report, correspondent accounts in drams exceeded AMD 200.6 billion in late January 2014 after growing 0.8%, compared with the previous month, and those in foreign currencies totaled over AMD 186.4 billion after contracting by 21.9%.

Net international reserves shrank 8.1% in January, compared with December 2013, to about AMD 601.8 billion, and net interior assets reduced 22.1% to AMD 181.2 billion.  ($1- AMD 412.93).  —0—
